Help!!! Peugeot 307

My 307 is ~750 miles over dur for its 48k service. Its booked in for next week, but tonight a warning light came on on the dash - an amber light for the engine. I think this means that i must get it serviced asap, asit still works fine. there is still oil in the engine.

occasionally after switching the engine off a fan keeps on running - very noisy.

can I keep on driving it or should I not drive it at all....

will try and drop it in to a garage tomorrow

It's a French thing...

I had a Renault which did the same thing to stop the fuel in the float bowl from evaporating in hot conditions, or it's running the rad fan to stop heat soak till the temp drops. Neither are things to worry about.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

main thing i'm worried about is the light.

phoned the aa up, apparantly peogeot only have 1 years cover as part of their warranty. Lady was very helpful though and said as its an amber light probably just need to top somthing up or get it serviced. will phone up a dealer tomorrow, after I get to work.

if its a derv, some of the hdi jobbies have an additive for the diesel in a small tank that can run out around the 50k mark, only had it on a couple of cars so far but it will bring a light on.. if so it will run fine, the addiditve is just to help nox burn off at lower temps for emissions etc

or it need a service

or u dared to adjust a seat or a mirror or opened its door or something

I think that just the get it serviced light.

From hazy memory, so the order may be wrong, push and hold in the trip button then turn ignition on. The display then counts down from 10 to zero, this resets the service interval mileage and clears the light.

Regards Mark

Phoned a PUG dealer today, said if the engine runs then not a problem, but if the engine stops, or runs badly their is a problem. Also said that the light might go out on its own accord, which it did after about 100miles of motoring.

Currently no lights on the dash!

A strange experiance though.
