sony P800 file conversion???

My Sony P800 has died. Believed to be terminal. This is OK as i can get a new phone. What is annoying is ive lost my contacts. I have a backup file on my PC. It is a .ecs file. Does anyone know of a way to convert it so it can be read in something like excel etc??
I also have a version that is a .cdb file if this is easier to convert. I have tried to read it in notepad but it is too scrambled.

I know its a long shot but worth a try.

Cheers,
Darren.

Looks like ill try plan b. Just bought new P800 off ebay. Ill firstly try swapping the screens in the hope the phone is Ok and do a backup. Put screen back on new phone and download data into it.

Plan C will be to get new phone. Do a back up. Unzip the back up file and cut the old .cdb file with associated index's into it and then restore to phone. Not as easy as it sounds for a PC numpty like me but the forums seem to have some good advice on 'em. Thanks Calvin for the help - mucho appreciated.
