kiting buggy - steel weight
Sort of got into flying big kites a little. Friend has an expensive buggy and i'm thinking i can do that for a lot less than 250 quid.
So, what is the weight of mild and stainless steel? I'm thinking of making it out of either .8mm, 1 or 1.2mm depending on weight.

I made one of these to a plan off the web using the remains of some 3/4" 16swg pipe I had left over from the locost, the headstock came from an
old bike, some old cargo netting for the seat and I bought the correct 'sand' wheels from a kite shop. The wheels were the only cost at
about £60.
Goes as well as a £250 buggy!

Kite shops sell the wheels at 15 pounds a go now..........
still not as cheap as i'd like - plenty of places sell industrial pnuematic wheels ..........
sure i can see an opportunity here
Where did you get the plans from? One of the key design consideration is making it foldable (almost wrote colapsable - but realised the implication
). Got a good idea at the moment. For the headstock i was thinking of just using some tube and a bit of plastic as a bearing surface.

will do - hoping to make it simple tho. Depending on the frame design it should be a combination of bolt and weld for fixed bits and push fit for
others (apart from one bolt!)
Respond to your email in a bit.
