Test drives
Have other people had the same problem as me when it comes to test driving 7's?
When i go to the shows i feel that they think i am a tire kicker and that i am just there for the hell of it
I have been taken out in other peoples cars (thanks to OX) but never driven one for my self.
All i want to do is to see, before i go out and bye the kit, what they drive like for my self.
What do i have to do to get a drive?

I think it would help if you could show thewm you've driven a similar car. They have to assume you know bugger all about driving and own a
fiesta! Put it this way, would you let a total stranger out in the car you've just built?

westfield used to let you go out in a cvh powered car a few years back which i thought was pretty good, they do it on a saturday morning once a month
at the factory and then scare the poo out of you in the seight demo car with 300hp
i had a go in the mk when i collected my chassis but on the road didnt really prove anything as i didnt know the area and couldnt push it at all.
total kitcar was a bit better as it showed me how much difference putting two people in a bec made to performance

You can come down to Cambridge and drive mine if you want.
V8 Viento 0-60mph in 4.5 Seconds!!
One Condition:
You bring £10K in cash, and I hold it whilst you drive it. You Bend or break any of it and I keep the cash I am holding.
You are welcome to come down and I will take you for a ride, without the £10k condition above.
Everyone puts a huge amount of hours and effort into their pride and joy, and dont want it bent or broken by someone else.
Bear in mind your Car insurance probably covers you to drive other peoples cars, most do. However, Its only 3rd party cover, and will NOT cover
damage to the car you are driving. Hence most people will be unwilling to let you drive their cars.
I have scared myself a couple of times, as I am still learning the car. Its bloody awesome to drive, and dead easy to loose the back end on a corner
if you have too much right foot.
1. The point of a journey is not to arrive.
2. Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.

just bite the bullet pick a kit and buy it build it thats what i did picked kit up in feburary never even sat in 1 only til recently thanks to
skydivepaul had my first journey in r1 power and so glad i shouldnt be fair of to start using mine

My mate and i got a shot of driving MK's red rocket with the blade engine- maybe we were just lucky!

Must say I hadn't even sat in one when I brought my kit , first time I drove it on the road instead of just up and down the drive I wasn't
sure about it . Taking the car for an MOT there was loads of strange noises and smells especially from the exhaust wrapping on the manifold . After
SVA I begun to get used to it and found it to be brilliant fun and have no regrets . Would I build another ? Yes but I would do a few things
differently

I'd only ever been in a 1.6 caterham once, for 45 mins before I went out and brought my bec, so I wouldn't worry too much!

Id never even driven a 7 or been a passenger, I bought a complete car and had to drive it 50 miles in torrential rain, I soon learnt how to drive it,
I think the best way to learn how to drive a 7 is in the wet, especially when I thought I had clutch slip and then realised it was wheel spin at 50
