Where should I build it?
I currently have two options for the location at which I can build my car.
(I have recently bought a flat, unfortunately with no garage - any other first time buyers will know in Surrey you can't be too picky with what
you can[or can't] afford.)
I have found the local council lockup, about half a mile away, no power, not the nicest place in the world, £8 a week or thereabouts.
Second option, friend who runs civil engineering groundworks company might be able to find me some space in his (big - 40'x80' ) lockup -
next to his tr6, two aeroplanes, steam roller bits and microlite.
This would have power and better facilities, though last resort option really (don't want to impose too much) and is 30 min drive away.
Any ones else built a car in a council lockup? Bit worried about lack of power, workbench, lighting, locals, security etc etc.
BTW I have checked the conditions and there's nothing there to stop me using tools/building a car as I've heard is the case in other
council's.
Any other ideas (apart from knocking on old grannies doors, asking if they mind me using their garage!) also, my Dads garage is 30mins away too and
has his restoration project is in it before you ask.
Cheers,
Ned.
beware, I've got yellow skin

I would have thought that security was your biggest problem - once the yahoos find out that something interesting (and potentially valuable) is going
on, it will just be a matter of time before the break-in.
Your friend might welcome someone around his building in the evenings and weekends - you'd be a cheap night-watchman! You could always
volunteer some money towards heating & lighting...

Are you in grannies' will?. How about some mushrooms. Sorry granny.
How about trailering it to your mates place when you need to do stuff.
yours, Pete.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
