Now here's something you don't hear often
My missus recently got a fixed penalty ticket (£60 & 3 points) for ignoring a No Entry sign. She was listening to her talking satnav which told
her to turn right and she dutifully obeyed, ignoring all the (very large) No Entry sign and the (very clearly marked) traffic cop car parked next to
it!
Mr Plod was very efficient and issued the fixed penalty notice in record time and sent her on her way.
Anyway, a few days later an official looking envelope plopped onto the door mat informing her that it was a technical error and she should have been
done for the more serious offence of ignoring a bus lane (even though both signs were relevant) It turns out that the traffic cop was in the wrong to
charge her with the lesser offence and all charges are dropped!
Doesn't that give you a warm feeling deep inside?
Cheers,
Raz

So its fine to smash head on into someone by driving the wrong way up a one way street, but wrong to use an empty bus lane and hold up a few grannies
off going to tescos who randomly stop in the middle of the aisle you want to go down?

Friend of mine got popped £100 for driving in a bus lane, at 5am. How many bloody buses are on the road at that time of day. By the way, fine was from
a camera sighting, not Mr Plod, crazzy world. Ray.

yeah bus lanes that are there and not getting used for buses shouldnt be bus lanes, what a waste of time going after people drving down an empty lane.
IMHO bus lanes should also be bike lanes, stop bikers having to filter between cars, when there a nice safe lane for them to take.

They almost always are AFAIK, certainly around here anyway. Bus, cycle, motorbike and taxi. Very few limited to bus only ands they're the really
short ones that allow you to miss traffic lights etc. I read somewhere that there is a proposal to allow bikes in ALL bus lanes but who know if it
will happen!
