Received my road tax renewal

Received my road tax renewal in the week.

Typically it was for my donor car!

The last time I saw that was in September 2000 and the last time I saw the log book for it was when DVLA took it off me in May 2006 as I was registering my car. They said I didn't have to worry about scrapping it as they would take care of everything.

I wonder what would happen if I applied for the log book.

Typical!

Their computer system is up to date when it comes to issuing a fine for being 1 day late with a sorn declaration though!!

Have you tried entering your donor reg into the vehicle checker on the dvla site yet?

Cheers

G

Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work and driving through traffic in a
car that you are still paying for - in order to get to the job you need to pay for the clothes
and the car, and the house you leave vacant all day so you can afford to live in it.

Same here, I had to write and tell them that Shrewsbury DVLA office took my donor v5 at their inspection and told me they'd deal with scrapping it.

Wierd. I've rang DVLA lately to tell them about some prick who kept parking outside my house and his tax had run out and he was using the van daily, which meant his insurance was invalid. They admitted the tax was out but had to wait 15 days for their computer to update? They just told me it had expired and in any case weren't now interested because it was being driven and was told to ring the police. Guess what? Tried for two days then they weren't that interested either. Its maybe a Northern thing with the DVLA I dunno. Useless bastards

I got the renewal for the Indy the other day, went on line, filled in a few questions and paid over the internety. Tax disc arrived this morning.

Nice, no fusking on looking for the insurance certificate, no queuing down the post office with loads of little old ladies who smell of wee.

Surprising that DVLA made it so easy for me, considering what barstewards they were when I registered it.
