Ebay - what to do about a seller

I bought a Parrot CK3100 bluetooth car kit on eBay fully installed for £129.

The seller contacted me to inform me that a lead costing £55 would be needed to get around my Bose amp, fair enough. But then I noticed he also needed more funds to make the difference up for the CK3200 LS, the next model up and not what I'd bought.

I called the seller and explained I'd ordered the CK3100 and I was happy with the extra £55 to get around the Bose amp, he understood.

I was at a track day on Friday and guess which kit he fitted while I was out , that's right the CK 3200 LS. He'd gone by the time we were home and my wife wouldn't know a bluetooth car kit from her elbow. This morning he wants another £40 cheque sent to his home address.

So you asked for the 3100, he installed the 3200 and now wants more money?

Ask him to come and swap it over. You didn't want the 3200 and don't want to pay the extra. It's going to cost him more in time and money to swap it over.

It sounds like a way of conning money out of you.

Whenever 've bought something and only the next model up is available, I expect the extra for free or a hefty discount!

You've got the correspondence, so just file it for a rainy day (paper copy, not electronic) and resolve it with him.

I would also insist that any correspondence comes through Ebay and not directly and that if he will not do that inform him you will not reply.
Ebay are not the best at policing but at least they can then see what is happening.

Tell him to go f@@k himself. If he fitted a better model than you paid for that's his tough luck.

When you next communicate with this chump (only via ebay as previously suggested) ask him; Does he want negative feedback, has he heard of Trading Standards, is his business registered with the Inland Revenue, are his local Council aware that he is running a business from home and does he have the neccessary planning consent, for change of use of premises?
This did the trick for me a short while ago.
Full refund, after trying for nearly two months.

Finally the muppet responded to my messages from eBay.

His 'mistake' he admitted, he doesn't normally sell the CK3100 product on eBay only the CK3200 was his response having threatened most of your suggestions above to him!

Strange, I checked his feedback and 5 of the last 6 things he sold were Parrot CK3100s.

Muppet.
