Ebay sale advice?
Just sold my jag on Ebay to a highest bidder
Trouble is its a fair amount of money and a bit nervous about what to do next. I have sent the invoice... but what do i do next? sit back an wait for
a paypal payment and collection? Should I make contact or wait for him to contact me?
the guy that won has 100% score but only 5 items bought so far. Not sure if to selebrate or not. Any thoughts?
Thanks
Adrian

Be patient for now,
And dont deliver it without checking the buyer and take backup with you.

if he want to do bankers draft meet him at his bank when he collects it, a bankers draft and be fake. or get him to meet you at your bank and pay it
in infront of him so you know all the notes are good

Whilst its great for peace of mind if the buyer pays via. paypal , you are aware that you will be charged 4% of the total amount invoiced - which may
be a significant amount in your case?

I wouldn't have any peace of mind at all in taking any large amount of money through paypal. Hideous fees aside paypal have a very buyer-biased
refunds policy - it's pretty easy for a buyer to make up some false complaint about the transaction, they then get their money back virtually no
questions asked, and you get shafted with very little opportunity to dispute it.
As has been mentioned, take payment at a bank if possible, and ask to have a copy/take details of a photo id as well.

Hicost so did the funds clear in your account then, can't see how they could take money from your account if the transaction had completed. I
knew they could take it back if you just left it in you paypal account but as I always transfer it into my personal account thought it was safe. I am
very interested in this as I've heard many stories about Paypal but like many things didn't know if they were true or not.
Cheers

I had said in the sale that £200 deposit be paid within 24hrs. The guy emailed me for a paypal request for that amount which I sent and he has paid
(and I have transfered to my bank account)
So am just waiting for a responce back on arranging balance payment and collection.
Cash or bankers draft?
Thanks

Definitely cash, paid over inside your bank!
If you plan on selling a lot of items or a few at major money prices, it is a good idea to have a separate bank account for PayPal (ideally in a
different bank from your normal personal account holder), then when money is paid in to your PayPal account, simply transfer it to your normal
personal account. This stops them pillageing your account. Some PayPal accounts have been frozen, whilst containing thousands of pounds, without any
explanation from PayPal.

Will go for Cash then as i'm out in the sticks...
From his email address i have managed to trace where he works and looks like he runs and partly owns a business near edimburgh. The business address
matches his ebay address, so am getting a warmer feeling...
Thanks

If in doubt, meet him somewhere local and take a large friend or two. Preferably farmers with ill-concealed shot guns/big dogs.

was this the 36 K E-type?
I'd be very wary with large sums of money even if all t he rest is bona-fide.
Cash transfer from his bank to yours - the way that is done when selling a house - or cash over the counter at a bank.
He turns up with the bag of loot to your bank where you will be wiating inside so there is no risk to you walking around with it or being
robbed.
Personally I woudn't trust paypal for big amounts.
