O/T Current A6 avant 2.0 tdi S line
Looking to buy one of these in the near future. Have had Audi's in the past and had no problems. Anybody got any experience of this one? Good or
bad.
Will be doing between 80,000-100,000 miles a year, so needs to be reliable.
Thanks
Ben.

My boss has just picked his up. Very nice. Must be good because he's stuck with it for the next 5 years.
Think his is the 2.8 TDI though?
I had an A4 (1.9 130BHP) which was OK, but I know of three that had the clutch go, complete with centre bearing just outside the 60,000 mile
warrantee.

Drive it first, the S line suspension is pretty firm for 80k per year, too firm for my 30k per year.
Have a look at the 525 M sport, although I'm not sure the cost difference, a better car.

I've got the A4 S Line (3.0 TDi Quattro) - it's a little firm but fantastic across country - I'm 'only' doing about
25,000 miles per year so it's fine for me. And, with the blue lights (covert until on) on it's a real mile eater!!

Looking at an SE tomorrow, maybe a better bet than S LINE. Wiil see if I can try them back to back to compare. Have also got a 520d touring booked for
weekend.

I've got the "new" 525d SE Touring, and love it. Absolutely demolishes long journeys, has an amazing turn of speed for such a big
car, and still returns 37mpg all in, despite the speeds that I drive it.
Cheers

I have a 2.7 A6 S line. Tried the 2.0 but found it to be a bit sluggish in the A6 (fine in the A4). I have the 18" wheels with 40 series tyres
which rides much better than the 19" with 35 series tyres. The sports susp in the S line is an improvement over te SE but it does make the ride
a bit firmer. Plus it is soooo much better than my old 5 series in the wet (and no its not the Quattro version) but not quite as good in the dry.
Mines a company car so I dont worry about the servicing costs etc. But I believe the 80k one is very expensive.

Have just been to look at the SE. Liked the car. exactly as described. Only thing is the dealer won't move on the window price at all.
The car is
06 A6 2.0 tdi se avant
4,000 miles
17 inch wheels,
Black Volterra leather,
GSM phone prep,
parking sensors,
the rest is pretty much standard.
£24,995
What do you think of price for this car?
Am I expecting to much to be able to haggle on the price of a 25k car when I'm paying cash? I know they'd rather have the finance but
still!
I think if he won't budge at all when I speak to him again he's just lost a sale. A shame but plenty more cars out there.
Ben.
