OT Xsara central locking
Does anyone here know whats going on with my central locking, if you lock the car with the key fob, it won't lock and beeps to tell you so, if
you manually lock the drivers door and then push the button on the key, it lock the remaining doors and arms the alarm/immobiliser.
'Door motor is u/s' I hear you all scream, tried that tonight with a brand spankers citroen one, and exactly the same symptoms occur. Any
one had any experience of this or got a wiring diagram
?

Had a look at that, loom appears ok from the a-post and took the multiplug apart, it's all nice and clean, no corrosion etc.
Tried to make sense of which wire does what too but the multi plug has 9 pins on it and got me in a right muddle....

could be a fault on the door latch telling the alarm there is a door open other than that the common fault is wireing to the doors

Confused but excited.

Check the wires that connect onto the back of the multiplug in the door. Had this problem on a mates Rover. The wires had work hardened and snapped at
the end of the pins.
We had to extend and solder the wires from the door through to the loom in the pillar.
Tell them about the bent treacle edges!

You'll probably have tried it anyway but it might need a new battery, Renaults go like that.
Also If its owt like the Renaults I think the drivers door actuator is like a "master" so if thats broken the rest don't work
(unless you've manually moved the actuator with the key).
I think thats what wrong with my Renault van, cos the switch inside locks all the other doors except the drivers and pressing the key fob does
nothing!

Is that a kangoo?? If so itl be the solenoid. Had the same problem at work,.
As for the citreon. Does your interior light etc go off when u shut the door?? Do they use the same switch for the lamps and alarm?

thanks for all the suggestions lads, I haven't noticed anything to do with the interior light though, if I manually lock the door then lock the
rest with the key fob, another press of the fob does all the dead locks, will have another look in the morning before work as grovelling around in the
dark is no fun at all...
