Go to control panel / options and adjust profile. Change the line called avatar Points to a website. Don't think you can use the member photo area for the avatar photo- might have to get a free website from someone like geocities...

Load a picture into your photo archive and point the avatar address to that URL.

Keep the size of your avatar down to approx 150w x 150h or people will ggggrumble...

Yes you can, that's where most of them live.
Usual problems with photos in the archive are symbol characters and spaces in the filename or trying to use a name someone else has already used (avatar.jpg is taken)
