Council changes?? be warned
hi
I would like to pre warn everyone that this country is slowly becoming communist
there slowly chipping away at anything we enjoy ie our cars were the enemy as you know
smokers are like murderers showing a hook go through someones mouth when kids are watching tv at 6 oclock?
They are ruining everything
and any spare cash you have at the end of the month believe me theyll soon want it or figure out a way to get it
BECAUSE THE council knocked on the door yesterday and asked how many over 18's in full time employment live in the house
wonder what there planning
so far I pay £800 a year for a fortnightly bin collection
what more could they offer

Probably trawling for people claiming single occupancy discount on their council tax, when there are multiple people in the house.
So nothing new really. http://www.adviceguide.org.uk/n6m/index/life/tax/council_tax.htm

Surely the reason they show the "hook" advert @ 6pm when the kids are watching is to try and prevent kids from starting smoking in the
first place..... Best way of giving up being never to start etc etc...
I agree people should have the fundamental freedom of choice to smoke if they want to. Trouble is I see so many patients complaining that they really
hate smoking but can't handling quitting IE they don't have freedom of choice to stop smoking!!!!
I think the whole smoking thing will die down a bit once the pub smoking ban comes into place. After all, if people drive crazily fast on a track and
kill themselves that's motorsport, when they do the same on the public roads and kill other people that's manslaughter.....
Saying an individual has a right (human rights, freedom of choice and all that) to smoke in public whilst driving @ 110mph down the motorway only
works until I claim my human right not to be run over or given second hand carcinogens- though to be honest to get the later I'd have to be
slipstreaming @ 110mph so perhaps not the best example!!!

about 3 months ago i had a suit knock on my door asking, who was how old i was and how many people lived here so i told him my name was Dr Dixi
Normouse and said i lived with 5 polish girls, i did this as i thought he was selling something etc etc etc, turns out he was from the local council
so i had to go in the office and sort it out about a month later.
but i really cant remember the guy saying where he was from, but apparently he did. woops but i looks like all the local councils are doing this as
there are loads of tax dodgers out there.... best of luck to them lol

Ha! Can beat you all.....one bedroom semi detached cottage in Aberdeenshire - £1,775 /year. For that we get one wheely bin collection once a month
(thats right they'll only pick up whats in your wheely bin nothing else! No street lights, no snow ploughing, no gritting, no road maintenance
what so ever and so far as I can tell absolutely no value for money! What a joke! (oh by the way the road I'm reffering to is a public road
that runs past our house in the middle of nowhere and about a mile and a half from the nearest main road. On the bright side it does make it
impossible to get out when its icey or snow so lots of days of work! Bonus! Oli.
If your not living life on the edge you're taking up too much room!

£350 a year i pay i live on a boat
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in
sideways, Chardonnay in one hand, Tequila in the other, body bearing battle scars and totally worn out, screaming- WOO HOO!! What a Ride!

It's OK, you won't have to trouble yourself taking the pictures - they have been known to stand outside taking them without permission
apparently.

Thats the one that really gets me , I pay £1300 a year and apparently 25%of the police share of it goes to there pensions and who lnows how much of
the rest goes to the other goverment leaches. To make matters worse Northants police force is said to be the worse performing in the country and they
want more money next year.
I would rather have no police force and private health insurance etc and look after things myself.
Paul.

Ahh, Uniform Business Rate.
Floor tax on small business, by any other name. The big businesses don't pay it, or very little. They just say they'll move to somewhere
that will give them an exemption, if they are forced to pay.
So the council says, oh well, we'll just value your 100,000 square foot factory at £0.50/square foot, while the little fella in the 1000 square
foot down the road is valued at £7.50/square. He doesn't have the clout to complain. Pay up or we send in the bailiffs!
I knew there were a couple of reasons I wanted to move business to USA or Oz.
Cheers,
Syd.
