Sparco Harnesses shortened

Hi

when I built my last car I ordered normal Sparco harnesses these ended up way to long. due to needing 7 stlye ones

now they cost a bit and I forgot to send them back

anyone ever had them shortened

I see its quite a thick sewing thread

I sent a harness back to the manufacturer (can't remember which one though) for repair of a frayed end. They did it free of charge, adding that they were really pleased to see one of their really old models is still going strong

My existing harnesses are way too long on the rear sections so I need to get them shortened. I wondered if a vehicle trimmer could tackle the job. afaik it is just a cut & stitch job with possibly a little heat sealing of the fibres.

Its thick thread used and u need a powerfull sowing machine. Im sure vehicle trimmers would do it. Even upholsterers probably would. Its not a safety end where its shortened.

I don't think anyone will touch them apart from the manafacturer due to the legal implications etc.
