It's crazy because the planet's ecosystem isn't collapsing because of CO, SOx or NOx, its all the bloody CO2 that's heating
the place up......
Under the scheme my 11 year old Micra would be dust despite doing crazy MPGs... whereas a brand new BMW X5 ubertossercarrier is okay... Lets not even
start talking about the energy required to scrap a perfectly good old car and make a new one!! I know which one's going to be kicking out most
CO2.... especially as the x5 does 16mpg on an urban cycle......
Also, they start talking about particulates- does this mean they're going to ban diesels??? They chuck out huge amounts of carcinogenic
particulates.... Amusingly, when they fitted particulate filters to the London buses the engines started chucking out huge amounts of NOx and SOx!!!!
It's not as if the government should be interested in getting people to buy new cars- the UK car manufacturers went bust a long time ago!!!

If it ever comes to pass it will be interesting to see how cars (or kit cars) with age related plates will be dealt with?
Q plates here we come!

all rubish.
Cars don't heat up the earth!
The maya's already concluded that in 2007 the highest sun activity is.
So we are all eating this crap.
We are stupid to believe that we could heat up the earth.
After 2012 the sun activity will drop.
And then we all believe that we actually did it.
BTW the water level in stokholm is lowering 40 cm instead!
And above all. cars are about 0.025% from all the CO2 producers.

It wouldnt matter anyway Edinburghs roads are really crappy. The tar isnt even joined up to third world standards. One word describes it PATCHES......
Better still they use cobbles everywhere else and those are really bad to drive over........
The bottom line is avoidence of the Burgh at all costs.
