It definalty worth it imho, you can pause live tv, record another sky channel at the same time, tell it to record all new episodes of soap etc no
matter what time they are aired and it will get them, you can evan use mobile text service to tell your box to record something if your not at home
but want it recorded!

I took the plunge just before christmas and it's great. not worrying about being in for things, series link stuff, pausing tv when the phone
rings or you need to check on dinner. it's great.

Would rather lose the missus than the sky+
once you start using it you can't live without it.
unless you upgrade to sky hd.....
If it doesn't fit MODIFY it!!

Forget sky plus, get a DVD recorder or hard disc recorder. You can still record off the settop box or a freeview channel, you can pause live TV, you
can start watching a programme that is part way through recording or watch an old programme whilst recording another - But you don't have to pay
a monthly subscription to use your own box.

I'm with most people, get sky+, it is great. Series link, record two channels while watching a previous recording, quality is great. Disk
space could be better, but that easily resolved.
definately the best product sky have ever launched (and if you subscribe to a sports or movie package no monthly charge either)

My only bugbear with Sky+ is the series links break if the program isn't on for a week

Sadly you can't! You do need to pay £10 to Sky to have the record facility or subscibe to enough of their packages (Movies, Sports etc...)
I bought my Sky Plus box from CairB before XMAS and it's brilliant! I didn't have to pay sky the premium as I already pay for enough
channels. I installed the LNB on the dish (Sky + needs 2 feeds, not just the one like the standard box) and also ran another length of cable too. Was
dead easy to do and I'm delighted with it!
Only downfall is I now watch all the crap late at night during the evening instead - rather than going to bed!

I think they have fixed this now, a couple of programs i have series linked were off over christmas, I thought I would have to re-enter them, but the
re-appeared in my planner after christmas all by themselves. hopefully this means they have fixed that cause it was a pain.

I had Sky Plus for a couple of years and cancelled my subscription (downgraded to FreeSat) last summer as I found I was watching all sorts of crap
until the early hours when I should have been spending time in the garage
I now watch mainly BBC until 9.00pm and sit on here until the early hours ........... I really need to get out more
Cheers,
Raz
When thinking outside the box doesn't work any more, it's time to build a new box

Sky+ is brilliant and we couldn't live without it! Forget DVD recorders and PVR's linked to your PC because they will never be as slick
and useable as Sky+. The whole system JUST WORKS and leaves the kids with no excuse for not coming to the dinner table...
Cheers,
Craig.

I love the way you can pause it when you go to the toilet, then when an ad break is on you can forward straight through it! Means you dont have to
hold yourself for the ad breaks anymore!
God we are sad! But it does change the way you watch telly, basically you can sit down in the evening and watch back to back decent programs you have
recorded through out the day.
