The Global Garage

On Discovery currently (Sky 520) just shows either what skills these guys have, or what a total con TV progs can be.

The finished car looks (if you are slightly drunk) like an Enzo.

How they get fit/finish/profile of the rear arches so good is amazing.

Nicely gas welded stiching of the arches is shown towards the end too, some craftmanship there.

Its an annoying prog, but worth watching.....

It shows what skills these guys have.

In the Small Arms Museum at Bordon there is a .303 Enfield rifle made by guys like these, entirely hand made, including the rifling in the barrel. You cannot tell it from a factory made one. The only way they got caught was that they can't read English, so all they rifles they made had exactly the same serial number and proof marks, in exactly the same place on each rifle. It is truly awesome.

Tell them about the bent treacle edges!

Aye, India is amazing for this.

A mate of mine who makes swords found a replica of one of his. Appart from the poor steel quality (one hit and it was shagged) the copy was spot on.

He even recognised which sword it was based off as it was one which had a defect in the pommel. They even reproduced the slight lopsidedness spot on.
