I have to say Metallica are the best live band I've ever seen. Heard them live twice - Once at the old Wembley, then a second time sat out on the patio at my old house, while they played at Donnington - 7 miles away

You should go see Motorhead, still officially the loudest band on earth, and quite possibly the reason for hearing damage in thousands of people

'tallica do put on a good show though

Lemmy: “At Port Vale, we built the entire stage out of PAs. A guy called up from four miles away while we were soundchecking and said he couldn’t hear his TV.”

Actually i think AC/DC stole the record from Motorhead, but they are still regarded as the consistently loud band at the moment.

Heres another Lemmy jem:

quote:

“I think my hearing’s OK. The human body adopts remarkably well to a lot of abuse. I’ve never used earplugs, Earplugs are for Ted Nugent. How could you expect the audience to stand something that you will not?”

You know it's loud when your ears are ringing for 3 days afterwards.

Mind you, a miss-spent youth playing in and roadie-ing for various bands has helped me become accustomed. Explains why I can keep going with the angry grinder while everyone else runs from the garage, ears bleeding
