Anyone for a Granada?

A neighbour wants to get rid of his 2 litre Granada. The engine snapped it's cam chain so it's probably shagged. It's in Northampton and would need to be trailered or towed away. If nobody want's it, it's going to the scrappy.

Apart from the valve damage, cost of gaskets, the new timing chain and tensioner(£85), when the chain snaps it usually whips down and cracks the crankshaft front main bearing cap (this has a lip that protrudes by about 10 - 15 mm) and if that is so then the engine IS scrap. OH don't forget the new oil pump and all the chain driven pulleys.

Apart from that the steering column, gearbox, diff, drive shafts, brakes and wiring loom/fuse box could be useful.

Beware of the Goldfish in the tulip mines. The ONLY defence against them is smoking peanut butter sandwiches.

That engine is non intereference!

It'll be fine, same thing happened to my dad on his 2 litre granada - new belt and off he went again.
