M25 speed cams
Hi all, I used to think that the cams on the variable limit parts,Jct 10 to 16, were only active once the speed sign was lit, having passed them all
acidently in the past at over the limit this was comfirmed, by me and other drivers that passed me during these drives.
The other day I came onto the 25 at jct 16 anti clockwise and the first bridge of cams (not showing any sign or speed reduction flashed the car in
front that was crossing lanes, then flashed the car to my right that was going about 85 ish, I know I was doing something similar so might have been
got as well, but is this a new policy of their use ? to be active all the time ? tis best to know and warn others i guess.
Can anyone confirm this ??

i haven't driven there for 2 years, i just remember the bridges having what looked like gatsos facing towards you. one on each lane. not
surprised by the number of accidents on there. people always seemed to be doing 90+. i once did, then came up over a crest going toward london, and
came up upon a car packed full of elderly asian people doing 40.

M25 Cameras between J16 and J10 (IIRC) [both directions & big blue sign to tell you about them] are all moveable and in Grey boxes that are
mounted on the reverse side of the gantry's so you cant see them until its too late. Only hope of knowing if they ARE there is the camera sign
mounted on the gantry (which some times is lieing).
M1 at the mo are average speed cameras from J11 to J8 (both directions) set to speed limit of 50 but you will find continental truck drivers
generally ignore this and try & push you through at more than this.
Beware of the Goldfish in the tulip mines. The ONLY defence against them is smoking peanut butter sandwiches.

Correct. If you stick to the legal limit why worry about cameras

average speed cameras are now in place and active on A2/M2 from M25 junction heading coastbounds. They are very effective throughout the roadworks
though. I totally support the use of this technology if it slows people down where needed.
"just like that !"

Don't know the answer, but thanks for posting. I've sped through that section more times than I care to remember over the last 5 years and
have never seen any sign of the cameras working. Must be more careful next time...

Just a reminder the average speed cameras on the A14 at the end of the M11 are now working as well
