OT Eurotunnel....
Im going for a little trip down into Europe this summer....I know the date I want to leave, so that not a problem...I dont have a clue when im going
to come back though...
I could buy a flexiplus ticket that lets me change my booked date for free...the ticket costs £199.....Or if I knew which date I wanted in advance I
could get across for about £60...
Can I just book a one way ticket for the way out, and then, when I know what date I want to come back, just book another ticket at the cheap non
refundable rate...or is this going to cause complications and result in me getting stuck in france?

I'd just book an out bound ticket and leave the return leg until required. Does it have to be the Eurotunnel, or depenant upon changing plans
could you take the ferry from somewhere else?

Some airlines, and it may apply to Eurotunnel too, if you buy two budget return tickets and only use the outgoing half of one and the return half of
the other, will check and will debit your card later to make up to the full fare you should have paid.
If you follow .....I think I do

That was cheap. I called in to the main departure point at Ashford with the family about a year ago. I thought Euro tunnel struggling, mid week, they
will just want to get bums on seats. So I says how much to get us to paris for the day and back. The girl says £285. I thought crickey a bit high but
it is all the way to paris AND back so its really not that bad.
As I finished thinking that she added EACH.
Apparently, because I wanted to go that instant that made me a business traveller. So top dollar is the going rate, oh and that was plus VAT &
taxes .
If I wanted she could book me a 3 Day ticket in advance that would be £90 each. But I wouldn't be able to travel that day on it.
Collect Wife & kids, drive down to dover, go & see the girl in the Sea France office, give her my address. Hello Mr Taylor she says, Day trip
to france I says for the family. That will be £20 she says or twenty nine with a car. No car I says and hand her £80 pounds. No thats too much she
says its £5 each £20 total or £29 if you want to take the car.
Then you wonder why eurostar is struggling.
Beware of the Goldfish in the tulip mines. The ONLY defence against them is smoking peanut butter sandwiches.

Yup, that is in Eurotunnel's T&C's (or was on my last ticket). I did wonder if they'd actually check and enforce it though

Yup, being a foot passenger really is the way forward! £5 ticket for all the booze you can carry!
