T45 is higher spec and stronger therefore you can have a thinner wall thickness for the same strength, making it as strong but quite a bit lighter, oh
and about three times the price

it also has different characteristics to CDS. I've got a vague memory hearing its not as good on repeated impacts or bends or something similar
- so do some research and let me know what you find as i'm usually wrong with my vague memories

There are specs that fall in between as well if CDS is too heavy but T45 too expensive.
My uncle runs a race prep company and they often use a spec of tube thats not a lot heavier than T45, but is about £8 per metre rather than £18-20 per
metre. I can't remember what he calls it, but to meet MSA specs I think it needs to be 2mm thick rather than 1.6mm for T45 (2.6mm for CDS IIRC),
therefore its only ~20% heavier than T45 and its easier to weld according to him.

we use a tube called clubman 500 think its probably the same as you are talking about as std on our cars although we refer to it as cds
not all tube labelled as cds is suitable for rollcage manufacture so be carefull what you buy
t45 is of course the strongest but also the most expensive

should have said t45 is the strongest that will bend on a macine but there are stronger tubes out there PTG 700 etc

Yep Clubman 500 rings a bell, so could well be the same. I guess "CDS" is simply Cold Drawn Steel so isnt a spec as such, but I think what
the MSA refer to for standard rollbars is significantly thicker than either Clubman or T45?
