LPG Conversion - minor update.
Some may remember that I stated - bravely - that I was going to convert my daily car to LPG. (I would call it my tintop, but it's not.) Anyway,
I digress.
The kit has been here for a bit over a week or two now and this was the weekend I would start the installtion.
IT was never my intention to complete it all in one weekend, but to spread it over two as most self installers do.
Yesterday was a washout - continuous rain all day without halt and my garage is full of yellow, so that left todayin the great outdoors.
It had always been my intention to find the difficult bit and do that first. In my case that is integrating the LPG ECU into the existing wiring which
controls the injectors. I figured that everything else would be easy.
Anyway, to cut a long story short, it's done. Car is up and running again, I've soldered a million connectors and had half the dashboard
out and back in again to get an itsy witsy little switch installed in the dashobard.
Next weekend - plumbing and setup.
(All done via the laptop and using OBDII diagnostics.)
(Not the plumbing bit, obviously)
Will keep y'all posted.

Cool
What have you fitted it too?
How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

It's a 2000 W Golf 1.6 Ragtop I'm fitting it to.
None of it so far has been terribly difficult once I got mt head round it, but there is a fair bit to get your around.
Another thought, this system I am using is pretty much the latest thing as regards LPG technology, so any system rescued from the scrappy is not
really comparable.
I'm not being an A**e here BTW, just clarifying the difference. ;-)
Still worth doing though

Weve got LPG on our Kia Carens.. ( I know its a kia, but gas was fitted from factory ) And its aweomse.. 45 litre tank, 1800cc engine.. and it does
around 270 miles to a tank full (Costs about £14) The only problem we had was, it needed servicing and adjusting, cos it would backfire, and blow the
airbox apart.. so be careful Or ofc just put a K 'n' N filter on it, like we did.. No problems anymore.. And it sounds awesome..
