Saxo Track
Anyone know what the rear track of a Citreon Saxo is against the Sierra?
Will a Sierra backend fit under? they look a lot narrower on the road but the body tapers in alot at the top and they are not as tall as a jelly mould
Ford so my be an optical illusion!
Still fancy RWD'ing one of these. I think a nice two door would be HUGE fun with a rwd bec setup

Saxo - 1321 mm 52 in
Sierra - 1468 mm 57.8 in

How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

Surely no SVA required??
Standard road car with full cage fitted, rear locost style Sierra ISIR, fabricated tunnel with the fuel tank in the boot.
Now then, engine... bike or V8, 2.0 zetec or something with a turbo....
Was thinking MKII Escort billes and stuff at the front, standard Sierra rear.
No interior just some nice buckets and a DAB for Arrow Rock....

de dion with four links is the easiest way, one of the lads at work wants to do one with an rs turbo engine and type 9 gearbox. build the de dion to
the same track and keep it all stealth, steering rack may be a bit awkward though

What about Escort world cup cross member aka MKII Escorts?? The rack would be OK with billies at the front and a RWD sump on the engine.

hi the sierra rear end will never fit under the saxo body. this is what i have had to do and ive still a bit to do then take it all off and spray it
all. you will have to cut up into the boot aswell for the ends of the de dion axle
the tunnel is under the steering rack so you dont have to move anything which was lucky and if you flip the anti roll bar over you will miss the
gearbox

Re-SVA the official wording is
quote:
The vehicle must score eight or more points to retain the original registration mark. If less than eight points are scored or a second-hand or
modified chassis or altered monocoque bodyshell is used, an enhanced single vehicle approval (ESVA), single vehicle approval (SVA) or
motorcycle single vehicle approval (MSVA) certificate will be required to register the vehicle. A 'Q' prefix registration number will be
allocated.
* chassis or body shell (body and chassis as one unit - monocoque ie direct replacement from the manufacturer) (original or new) = 5 points
* suspension = 2 points
* axles = 2 points
* transmission = 2 points
* steering assembly = 2 points
* engine = 1 point
