Thieiving cretins putting things on ebay...
Two weeks ago a member of my family had a vehicle stolen complete with a lot of accesories bolted to the car....
We have been going through the insurance process which is very slow and very stressfull...
Whilst trawling the well known auction site we found one of the accesories off the vehicle that looks very familiar...there is no doubt that it is the
exact same one that was stolen....
This particular ebayer has been selling things through ebay for a while and has quite a high rating....
Now, we have contacted the police chappy who was dealing with the case with the auction number, but is there anything else we can do?....Are the
rossers likley to follow it up, or just leave it be?....
Anyone had anything silimar happen who can offer advice...
(the insurance company has agreed to pay out now, so we are more concerned about having this bloke and his children strung up by their varying
genitalia and pickled slowly in a mild acid....)
[Oh, and if the tosser is reading this, and suspects we might be on to him...why not just save us the hassle and hang yourself from the nearest
tree..your nothing other than a low life oxygen theif!!!...]

I dont think its wise to disclose any specific details about this as it might hinder the police in some way....

friend of mine had same thing with a mk2 escort stolen saw it listed on a certian auction site so had a friend email the seller on the prefix of
coming to view and therfore getting the adress he then went to the local police station explained the situation they went with him and took the car
back with police precence

Is there any mileage in contacting the insurance company with the details?? Do you want the stuff back now and potentially save some no claims
discount or wait or the payout before giving the insurance company all the details you have. Legally dont they then become the owners of the vehicle
so the theft then is from them???
Personally i'd rather then theiving scum died a slow and painful death in a car crash as i dont think i'd want the car back - but then you
end up paying increased premiums anyway (then again maybe its worth it to know the scum cant do it again from their box 6ft under!!)
If only the police could clear the roads and then chase any theiving scumbags until they crashed and killed themselves the world would be a better
place.

IF you tell the insurance company, and you've had a payout, the car is there's along with any accesories.
IF not your premium will still go up - cos there has been a theft registered agianst you - but I imagine you could just change insurers? Do they share
"near misses" on their database???
An option is that you go round with a ridiculous number of mates, and have a polite word in the guys shell - for all you know he might have bought it
off the theif and so not be the thief - or even know it's nicked. That way you "could" get the car back, store it at a mates for a
bit and use it on the track only whilst still pocketing the cash...
OF course thats fraud.... so dont get caught

Now that you know where the car is, or at least you have an idea how to find it, you may be obliged to tell the insurance complany, so I'd tell
them as well as the police.

If It had been my car, and I presume you still have the keys ?
I would mail the guy and want to view the car, before parting with any money,
then once the car is left on its own stael it back
or is that all to simple ??

If you own the car, it isn't stealing if you "find" it and drive it home.

its an accessory that he's found, not the car itself.
Is it completely unique? Can you give some detail of what it is?
I would love to say leave it to the police, but i suspect they wont do a thing. However, battering him because he has a stereo with the same button
broken (for instance) is ridiculously OTT. Finding his address is a good start for further investigation, not retribution!

As said before, he could be innocent. His mate could have sold it him, he's bought it in good faith and decided that for what ever reason to
sell it on.
Ask questions first / let the official people do their job. If you go in fists flying you'll end up in a lot more trouble that the bloke
you're punching. I believe the courts take a dimmer view of violent crime than theft.
