If you get someone to put a stupid bid on you will end up paying the final value fee.

Agreed - cancel the auction (as long as you don't have any bids) saying that the car is no longer for sale.
Cheers,

Aye, don't get a mate to buy it for silly money it'll cost you.
Here is the end an item early form thingy, you may
have to cancel all the bids first before you can end it. If you look towards the bottom of the page on the left hand side it's all in
'selling resources' under 'related links'

I dint get what i 'wanted' for it but i was 'happy' with what i got.
there was no negotiation on price but i said i would deliver it for him to Donnington as the seat is non adjustable and he is too short to drive it

be prepared to still get the bill from ebay fo your listing fee, which will be £6 plus the starting value calculation.
they used to waive this fee on items ended early, but they got wise to people putting mobile numbers in their ads and selling outside ebay.
i tried to object as i hadnt even sold the bike, id just changed my mind - but no they sent me this automatic reply with my name thrown in now and
again, basically teling me I'm screwed - now pay up!
sorry mate, I know its still prolly cheaper than autotrader or similar. But still - locost and all that
