Converting tintop to hydraulic clutch?
Im just curious...
The tintop I have is renowned for braking clutch cables and or peddleboxes due to the fact that the car has a heavy clutch to handle more power than
the gearbox was ever suposed to take.....
It would improve the car 100% if the clutch was light and precise, making those gear changes quicker and neater....
How hard would it be to replace the mechanical cable/lever type clutch with a hydraulic one? Obviously fitting the master cyl would be tricky, but
deffinately possible, but can you get generic slave cylinders to sit in the bell housing?
(It would properably be cheaper to just keep replacing the cables, and then sell the car when I can afford it to get something a lot quicker..but as I
said, im just curious )

Well all things are possible given enough money/time/effort
You can certainly buy slaves in a range of sizes, how hard to convert depends to a certain extent on what is available locations to bolt it on are
nearby.
Do you have a picture of the bellhousing where the clutch cable is fitted?

Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

I dont have a picture, but could get one tommorow...
Its a VW Polo GTI if that makes any difference....The next version of that engine and gearbox combo is found in the lupo GTI, and that did have a
hydro clutch...but I know for a fact that the bellhousing bolt pattern is different for a start......
