Except the whole M. Fish thing isn't true. He was on TV this AM talking about it.
Hours before the famous broadcast he did a forecast saying "batton down the hatches, its going to get windy". Then on the later forecast
he was talking about someone ringing up about a hurricane (but in fact it was a hurricane concern re Florida). The last piece on the news was about a
storm developing near Florida hence the link. Obviously you can't just ring up the BBC weather dept when you're worried about the weather.
What in fact happened is that one of the people on the weather team had a mum who was about to fly to Florida and she was concerned re the weather
system in Florida. Mr Fish therefore reassured. But it's all been remembered differently.
Or that's the excuse anyway....

I remember it well, not the sort of thing you forget in a hurry!
I remember waking up in the middle of the night thinking oooooh it's windy and fell straight back to sleep!
