Fury soft top bits??
Hi All,
I bought my "road Fury" (version with doors) with a windscreen fitted and a soft top not fitted, i.e. I got a soft top in a box, ready for
installation. I now want to install that, so today I had a look to the bits and bobs I was given, and I think I'm missing what's needed to
attach the front of the top to the windscreen.
This is the the top of my windscreen:

This is the soft top:

The front of the top doesn't have a finish, currently it's just a bare cut piece of fabric:

Typically, I think I would be missing some "bar" or "top brace" (sorry about my English again ) to fit to the front of the top
so that it's rigid and then a couple "fixings" or "brackets" to secure / attach that to the windscreen.
I'd like to know if Fisher used to provide these bits or they are generally donor parts like say off a MX-5.
Cheers,
Alex
PD: The Fury kit car is now with these guys..

I've found a couple metal bits I'm not sure about. I think they are used to attach the side screens in a fixed position, these side screens
are just polycarbonate cut panels.
These are aluminium:

And these are steel or brass maybe:

(The brown colour stuff is just rests of packing tape.)
Then I've found a GRP piece which looks like a spare or replacement for the top of the windscreen:

If you could confirm what these may be for, that'd be very helpful, or if you had any pictures of Furys with top or any comments, that'd be
great.

the last strip of fibreglass fits in to the leading edge of the hood once you have aligned it correctly as it allows you to mount it with some
tension. give fisher a call and they'll talk you through fitting it, chris normally answers the phone and is very knowledgeable.

Those last two bits look like they might be what you need: somehow clamp and fix them onto the front end of the hood, then fit overcentre catches to
keep it on the top screen rail.
I doubt if anything off an MX5 would fit as the Fury screen is a Lotus Elan item.
You could try contacting Cranbrook Kitcars

Alez,
The fibreglass bit goes on the top of the windscreen.
Do a search on the Sylva list - I did a "how to" on how to fit a hood a while back.

GRP thing attaches the front of the hood to the windscreen surround - need to glue the fabric to this

W-O-W
Thank you all so very much.
So it looks like I'm sorted, other than a finding a method to fasten the two GRP bits together (that's the strip that I need to glue to
the hood and the top of the windscreen).
Looking at Steve's pic gallery, the "Fitting a Fury Hood" tutorial will definitely help me though on that. Sorry Steve, I
don't know what the "Sylva list" is, I did a Google search but I'm not too sure what I'm looking for, is that some Yahoo
list? I'm very interested. Your car looks great btw, congratulations on a nicely finished job.
Cheers,
Alex

The SSR has been disbanded and a new club JPSC (Jeremy Philips Sports Car Club) has been formed. A new website apparently is under construction but
until then there is alway the google groups forum LINK. Or the Fisher build site has
loads of pics LINK

Ah!
Those 2 links should sort me out, I suppose the list that Steve mentioned yesterday must be that Google one.
Thanks!
