Go on www.confused.com - enter your details and the amount you want to insure and it comes back with all the options. You can search under several parameters but by default it delivers you the lowest cost!

Good service and you only have to enter your details once to search extensively.

Try Sainsbury, good blanket policy few exclusions and gave me a quote about 2/3rds of all the other quotes.

LV (Liverpool Victoria) were cheaper than sainsbury's for me... I've used moneysupermarket.com for all my insurances, always pretty good...

Try Yorkshire Building Society, there's 50% off contents if you buy buildings and contents together, but before 11th Nov: -

I was with Halifax last year who were pretty good, but YBS beat them.

( and yes I do actually work for YBS, but in I.T. so I get no commission, just pointing it out )
