Santas bag of books
given its nearly Christmas I thought I would put together a list of books that "santa" can buy for me...
So far I have the new haynes "build a sports car book"...
Quite fancy Kimini mid engined book
But thats where I got stuck...
People have recomended getting "race car chassis design and construction by forbes aird...But its nearly £100... Seems a bit steep...
Im after books that explain suspension and chassis design as well as books on basic materials stress loading etc for chassis..
Anyone care to recomend any?

If you havn't got them already.
"Race and rally car source book" by Allan Staniforth and "Competition Car Suspension, Design, Construction & Tuning" by
the same author are both great imo.
I also found "Race Car Engineering & Mechanics" by Paul Van Valkenburgh very good.
Also, the 4 Carroll Smith Books (tune, prepare & engineer to win and the fastener book) are great, some duplication between them, but worth
getting them.
I would say avoid "Chassis Engineering" by Herb Adams, I didnt find any usefull info in it at all.
Also, If you can, get hold of "Racing and sports car chassis design" by Costain & Phipps. Old and a lot of the info is old hat but i
found it interesting.

If you like mysteries, Ron Champion wrote a good one.

Speedpro series, 'How to build and modify Sportscar and Kitcar Suspension and Brakes for road and track' by Des Hammill is quite useful
and has the longest title in the library.

Another Allen Staniforth recomendation from me, but this one (if you can find it) is called High Speed Low Cost. Great book.
