generally a s/h vehicle is worth as much as someone is willing to pay providing the seller accepts that amount.
a quick search on ebay shows the price varies anythig from 13 k to 19 K.
parkers are on-loine and I think there is something on autotrader that you can use to figure out value.

quite a few on the autotrader site as trade for 13k upwards depending on spec
A pint for the gent and a white wine/fruit based drink for the lady. Those are the rules

As someone who has owned several Landys and who has the dubious task of looking after a 2001 Defender, I have to ask why?? There are so many better
4x4s out there! And ones that won't leave you with a permanently bruised right elbow.
Incidently, the 2001 Defender has just had a new rear X-member welded on and two new outriggers. It will be needing a new chassis in a couple of
years. And this is a Landy that has never towed anything, never been off-road and was bought as a means to get around in the snow, that we never seem
to get, by a Dr who is Miss Owelly's Uncle!.
