That song must have been written before Prozac and Ritalin

Some more country music titles (sorry, no MP3s for your listening pleasure):

If I Said You Have A Beautiful Body, Would You Hold It Against Me?

How Can I Miss You If You Won't Go Away?

Get Your Tongue Outta My Mouth 'Cause I'm Kissing You Goodbye

I Got In At 2 With A 10 And Woke Up At 10 With A 2

If The Jukebox Took Teardrops I'd Cry All Night Long

She Made Toothpicks Out Of The Timber Of My Heart

Get Your Biscuits In The Oven And Your Buns In The Bed

Velcro Arms, Teflon Heart

I'll Marry You Tomorrow But Let's Honeymoon Tonite

Drop Kick Me, Jesus, Through The Goalposts Of Life

Thank God And Greyhound She's Gone

My John Deere Was Breaking Your Field While Your Dear John Was Breaking My Heart.

I Wouldn't Take Her To A Dog Fight Because I'm Afraid She'd Win.

They May Put Me In Prison But They Can't Stop My Face From Breaking Out

Pedants Corner!!

I've always thought that the saying went,

"I'd rather have a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal lobotomty"

Just think it scans better.

Pedant!?

I think not!

That was not researched, it was found by happenstance...

And I'm sure that Pete knows all those songs by memory!

Well, the first was from memory (though I'd be hard put to whistle it) The rest were the result of the miracle of Google, though I have heard of #s 4,7,10,12 and 14 before. Should I admit this??

I'm in training for this and if I want to be a pedant I will be !!

And whilst I'm on the subject,

How about a "Pedants Corner" area on here Chris ??

I'm sure it would spark some entertaining debate. (note: missed the obvious reference to a mass debate),

Oh! Bollocks!!

A few Christmases ago I was pressing buttons on my car radio, trying to find something that didn't involve carol singers, etc.

Came across the Radio 2 country and western program who were playing "Randolf the red-necked reindeer", which was highly amusing...

Was it "Grandma got run over by a raindeer"?

Leroy the Red-Necked Reindeer?

http://entertainment.msn.com/album/Default.aspx?album=300399

Much preferable to Grandma!!

Seeing as how American country music is rooted in traditional English-Scottish-Irish country music, wouldn't it be appropriate to go full circle?

14/10 - To complete a hasty pre-dinner thought, wouldn't it be wild to have a reverse 'British Invasion' with some really tacky (naff) country music? It would sort of pay y'all back for Benny Hill

Hey pete you forgot:

"Your wifes been cheating on us"
"The prettier I get,the drunker they look"
"Coyote Ugly(The ballad of one armed bill)"
"Heres a quarter call someone who cares"

The lobotomy thing was a quote from some politcian that was turned into a song.(I know your thinking Ted Kennedy, and while its obvious he's a drunk its more obvious he opted for the lobotomy)

I tend to hate country music but some are funny.
cheers Fletch
