Which mobile phone upgrade

Hi, im with o2 at the moment and the other day got my upgrade which was a Sony Ericson K850i absolutely hated it stupid buttons, touch screen that started not responding as easily after the first day and its 5MP camera, id rather take pictures with my old N70 as they came out far better - most my mates didnt realise it took the picture on the 6th flash! So has any one got any recommendations for a newish phone with a decent camera?

Nokia N95

Likes

Superb internet (though watch the cost)
Sat Nav (not great but a useful pocket solution for holidays, and using on foot)
Camera
Music player
And probably other things i've forgotten

Dislikes

A little bit big
can slide in your pocket (my first slide phone)
Battery life can be poor (especially when using all of the above features)

Hope this helps

N95 8Gig version for a camera phone (5MP Camera with glass lens)
or N81 8Gig version for a music phone (2MP Camera)
or E61i for an email/web phone

But then I'm biased

iPhone has great eye candy, but is limited to 2MP camera and slow net access if either of those matter to you.

p.s. for Nokia phones that use S60 make sure you get the 'SMS accelerator' application - free download from the Nokia site if it's available for your phone. It's absolutely essential, though NDA's probably mean I can't say why

Just a note on the K850i presuming you've still got it....

It isin't a touch screen at all, it just appeares like one. Its actually just the very very top of the keypad you press.
If it was a true touch screen then the whole screen would be pressable in other menu's etc, a bit of a cheep con really.

Also was the camera set in best pic mode, where it takes a few foto's and then you select the best or something, it sounds a bit strange to me.

Another vote for the N95 - I've got the 8Gig version and it's by far the best phone I've never had...... awsome (and the Gadget Show best phone winner, wiped the floor with the crappy and overpriced iPhone)

I think im going to have to go for a nokia having one for so long using a sony is super confusing. My mate has got one and loves it and says you get used to it, but surely a single navigation button is smarter. Im sure it will take better pics but havent found it easy to get a good pic quickly like when on a night out so its going back. For owners of the N95 is it a slow phone with all that software?

Nokia phones are pretty simple to use - they do use a single navigation joystick (the quality and feel of which varies from phone to phone) which does 4 directions + select switch.

The N95 is the fastest Nokia S60 phone to date due to the processor being better than previous models and a fairly significant architectural change under the hood. Have a play in CPW or where-ever before you buy any phone (though the staff training is pretty poor for smartphones) you don't have to buy it from them unless they do you a good deal.

Yup - My N95 is much faster than the previous N series phones I've had - AND you can load Tom Tom on it so no need for a separate Sat Nav.

My daughter has an N95 and has had to take it back thre times for various repairs and each time she does they say in the shop that they are not a reliable phone. It does take good pictures, but then so does my K850i which i am very pleased with. I've had Sony Ericson for a while now so no problem with the menu, but each manufacturer has their own way.

Best camera phone could be the new Samsung with 5mp and a 3x optical zoom. For camera, forget the iphone - it is a great design and interface for the phone but in functional terms as a phone and the other things expected now it falls well short - no picture messaging for example, and only 2G so no quick internet unless using wi-fi.
