New combi Boiler quotes...
Afternoon all.
I'm in the process of getting a few quotes for the supply/installation of a new combi boiler in our house. The old one has just about fallen to
pieces, and I am looking at just replacing the boiler/room stat and timer. I want to keep the existing radiators.
So far I am getting quotes between £1500 and £2000, and that is for a Worcester 28i Junior boiler supplied/fitted, the system flushing out properly
and also 5 TRVs on the radiators.
Is this a reasonable quote, as I am not really sure what is a good price to be honest!

Well the boiler is gonna cost around £800 to buy, then the TRV's are about a fiver each, with the new flu, controller and other bits it'll
add up to about £1000, or slightly more, in materials. So I certainly wouldn't want to be paying £1000 in labour for a boiler change and system
flush. £1500 doesn't sound too far out to me, if there's 2 of them, they'll have it done in the day easily.

Agree. i sourced my own boiler and parts and £1000 is reasonable, then paid a guy £300 for a full days labour to fit.

And I was lazy and got a local (London ) company to do it - cost £3000.
To be fair, they took 1 1/2 days and the guy who set it up took about an hour just doing the tests and adjustments so I was quite glad I hadn't
tried to do it myself

Around here a very cheap quote is maybe 12-1300 pounds.
More like it is 15-1700, so you're not too bad with your quotes depending on your area.

ive just finished a job and the boiler was moved to the other side of the house so
30 metres of 22mm tube and all the fittings
new boiler
9 new trv's and an hours travel each way
total job time was 35 hours and it was charged out at £2000

Thats what i paid in last house. Fairly top spec Vaillant and remote stat etc as well. I felt it was top end but not too bad. Parts wouldnt have been
cheap.
