Hi tks
I have run two cars on LPG.
A Honda civic 1.6LS which I've had from new and has now covered 160000 miles with no problems, and a subaru legacy 2.5 which has done about
60000 miles on lpg. the latter car suffered from failure of the oil seal rings on the pistons (but still had perfect compression), and I have heard
this is a problem with subarus running on LPG.
If you get a car with direct fuel injection, check the LPG is supplied through the injectors, as it is on most modern systems, otherwise you loose the
cooling from the fuel passing through the injectors and melt the ends off - expensive. The LPG on simple systems is injected into the air inlet
manifold.
The main problems running on gas seem to be accelerated wear on the exhaust valve seats (and less on the inlets), and your exhaust may not last as
long. I have to adjust the exhaust tappets about 0.05 mm every 36000 miles on the honda - the dealer claims they never need adjustment on cars running
on petrol.
I use 'slik 50' in my engine in the hope it protects the valves a bit.
Hope this helps
Hugh

I have one of these kits on my car - bought from the vendor above.
Easy Clicky Linky
It's very very east to fir but I have one piece of advice, and I make no apology for the block capitals I am about to use. This is borne of
experience.
RENEW ALL OF YOUR HT SYSTEM.
IT WILL NOT RUN PROPERLY IF IT ISN'T PERFECT.
There, I've said it.

Range rover, squential injetion fitted at 90k miles, just had the heads off at 190k and needed to recut seats. No bore wear noted.
I would not worry about the mileage if it sounds good from cold. LPG finds any poor spots, so poor leads, plugs etc show up where they may not on
petrol.
I used the range rover for towing, next car will be an XK8 or XKR running on gas, get a jag !
Regards Mark

I drive LPG since 1996
Drove a Beemer 1984 +200 K, Camry 1993 420K !, Subaru 2001 250 K, Audi 2002 +200 now
Never had real problems.
The old BMW engine I needed to adjust the exhaust-valves regular 10 K
The Camry every 20 K
The subaru also every 10
The Audi has hydr-adjusters.
The last two had injection. The subaru had a koltec-system which every 50K needed to be cleaned, the helix get's stuck with pollution. I did not
like the drive in trafic-jams (also on petrol)
Now (audi) I have a BRC sequent with Keihin injectors. This drives really great. I drive with the multi-tronic and the engine never stalls.
I buy always cars with more than 150K (i'm just a poor person )
Then give the car a really good check and drive 100 K without any problem.
