Anyone know anything about CAREL controllers?

Someone on here must use these things for a living...

I bought a pair of basic CAREL temperature controllers along with a pair of probes...I just wired them up, and both are giving me an error code that tells me the probes are faulty...

http://uk.rs-online.com/web/search/searchBrowseAction.html?method=getProduct&R=466-2012

I honestly dont believe that both units will have the same fault....

Anyone know whats going on, im totaly stumped by it?

Not used that exact one but have used very similiar controlers.Usually they will work straight away with the correct probe fitted , but some need to be calibrated to the probe. These ones use a resistance type probe and looking at the info can use NTC or PTC probes dependent on which input terminal is connected.I see that there is a plug in programmer that is used to set them up, do you have that ?.
It may be they need to be set to the probe type used.
Normally they are easy to set up and only need programming if a temperature offset is required and to set them for heating or cooling use.

Do you have the correct thermistor range? Have a look here.

If you have connected a thermistor with the incorrect range the device will see it as out of limits.

(I'm a controls engineer by trade - give me a shout if you need any more info, though I'm away until Monday).

Spin 'er off Well...
