I have often wondered...

Those on the graveyard shift must get paid a fair bit...

I somehow doubt that there would be any difference as they usually follow a shift pattern and take the rough with the smooth.

2 x 6am-2pm, 2 x 2pm-10pm, 2 x Day off etc

I've always found it a bit odd that the ones round here don't seem to speak a word of English!

Why are you asking? are fancying a change in career? Want to move into the very slow lane and getting a masters on how to grunt instead of speech. Just think you'll never have to buy another car mag again! There all there your own free and up to date personal library also free food, just remember to glue shut the crisp bags once you had a few

Mmmm you make it sound soooooo good mr W

Seriously, I am just thinking about changing my present security shift pattern (12 hour days and nights) to something a little less taxing. My body clock doesn't know which way is up at the moment and the old ticker isn't having a good time either

Strangely, they are reported to have one of the best job satisfaction ratings of any profession(!!) but equally one of the highest suicide rates.

Strange but true (and admittedly useless) information.....

LOL That one must have passed me by completely but it seem pretty close to the mark - it's amazing what some people will do to occupy their bored brains at 3.00am on a cold night

I used to manage a small chain of petrol stations in the 70/80's and used to get the local yobs using my motorbike as target practice ..... until I caught the ringleader and explained what I would do to him if I caught him again. They then diverted their efforts to breaking in at night and nicking all the ciggies and CB radios .... little buggers.
Discounted petrol was also quite easy in those days of mechanical meters but if I told you how it was done I'd have to kill you

I used to love that program! They didn't make many episodes, it was always on really late at night when sane people had gone to bed, and always on a weird night...

It was always completely off the wall, almost surreal, which really appealed to my odd sense of humour...

I liked the one where they set the gorilla on, they were all classics though and I didn't know they had been released on DVD.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
