Need some advice

I brought these on ebay last week.
The wheels arrived three have about 2mm left, one tyre was bald and one of the wheels has pretty badly damaged laquer and will need a recon before it goes on my car .
I then brough a part worn tyre on ebay to replace the bald tyre.
Am i better off forking out for a new set of tyres (£150 each) and selling the good 5 on the bay to try and make some money back as i am going on a tour in norway in a few months and will be doing a few thousand miles.

How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

I don't think I'd like to go on a big tour with anything other than good tyres. 2mm doesn't sound very much to me. Why not run the ones you have till your ready to leave and then get new tyres all round for the trip.

Forgot to mention the current tyres have a slightly bigger diameter so when the speedosays im doing 60, im actually doing 63. The new tyres would be the right size.
I dont do many mile in her so i wouldnt run them down very much.

ever used a GPS? if so you'll have realised that production car speedo's are actually rather pathetic, 3mph? My Volvo over reads by 10mph at 80mph and the bluebird is an even worse 15mph out.

Typical mass production rubbish.

Or a more cynical person might think that manufacturers just design their speedos to overread by the maximum legal amount just to make their cars seem a bit quicker

Not me you understand, I'm far too young and gorgeous to be so cynical
