New toy

Picked it up last night and took it for an MOT this morning.
Just a few bits and bobs for the retest and I can start playing with the engine

Paintwork is dull, but otherwise the engine runs sweet (2.0 pinto)
And best of all the shell is incredibly solid, tester commented on it. Couple of small blisters in the boot is all.
Not bad for a 29 year old car

Square lights will be changed for the round jobbies with grill to suit.

Got some decambered single leaf rear springs to go on it and bilsteins to suit.
need to get some lowering springs and 2.8 legs for the front.
Then a stage 1 head and a fast road cam to get the power up a tad.

I had 2 mk1's and 3 mk2's between the ages of 18 and 24. All of them were RS's of some description. One of the mk2's was a genuine RS1800. Wish I still had that today!

Nice! when I was a youngster my first three cars were mk2 escorts all modified in one way or another.

Would love another one but there a bit too pricy now day’s looks like you got a good buy there.

Tis all on the road now
But i'm craving a bit more oomph.
Do i go the oft tread zetec route?
or possibly a nissan 200sx lump and box?
You can buy a rotten runner for 500 quid or so, and an easy 200bhp from the offing!

Decisions decisions.
