Dont you just hate it when.....

Dont you just hate it when you wished you didnt bother!!

Walking to the garage this morning, all of 4 steps and noticed a dirty great big weed in the grass so i thought it would be best to pull it out now before i cut the grass later and CRACK!! Bang goes my back!! Been rolling around on the floor in pain all day.
Got no work done on the indy at all!

Moral of the story is DONT BOTHER next time!!

I feel for you, did exactly the same thing a few years ago, just filled the mixer, during building the conservatory, and bent to pull a plant up SWMBO was messing with....

A few days R&R required mate....

Hey Matt,

Did nothing except get up for work on day - felt something go. Went to Doc's, sent me to a specialist MRI scan, ruptured disc pressing on my spinal column. Potential to operate taking out the disc and fusing the lower 3 vertibrae. I didn't go for the Op but 13 weeks off work in absolute agony - bent over double for most of the time UNPAID by my employer.

I regularly work out on lower lumber excercises now to improve rotation and flexibility and the muscles take most of the pressure off my back. Still get the odd twinge now and again but I tend to ignore those the best I can.

There is nothing worse than a genuine back problem.

Steve

I use a pump-action weed-killer spray!

I hurt my back years ago when pushing a broken-down motorbike a couple of miles - now I'm REALLY careful about lifting and bending.
