Trailer suspension..

Just a quick querie... is a trailer with a pair of 750kg (for example) units capable of carrying 1500Kg??

Or is the 750Kg rated as the max they can carry, as a pair?

Will a Locost trailer be OK with 550Kg units? Only because I already have a pair!

750kg is for the pair ,

don;t forget the weight of the trailer + your car would have to be less than 550kg

you will be struggling to keep a fuelled locost plus trailer under 550kgs total. I though 750 was ambitious.

Id go for a pair of 550kgs (ie 4 wheel) to build in some leeway. Can still be unbraked if you put 750kgs on the plate.

Don't forget the load ratings of your tyres - car tyres are not really up to the job.
