Sheep...

Every supermarket petrol station around Ipswich had a long queue yesterday, to the point where roads nearby were getting blocked.

Near to my home village there are 2 small petrol stations on the A12, just a few miles south of Ipswich. No queues, just the normal number of passing customers. This was presumably the case with all local stations.

So people are sitting in queues, using petrol and going nowhere, where they could have filled up locally and paid just 1 or 2 pence per litre more.

What shall we nominate for the next panic buy? Sugar? Salt? Frozen peas?

Absolute morons...

the true scum of this situation are the newspapers and internet news sites. Read the panic inducing headline on the daily mail in the pub yesterday:

We're running out

just because one minister had said he couldnt guarantee that no stations would run dry. FFS, the papers are entirely to blame for the situation.

Then the main article, all the photos had captions like 'the queues begin' and 'panic sets in'.

But then the comment in the editorial goes on about how foolish it all is. Seems they want to have the extra sales and still keep the moral high ground?
