Exhaust questions, parts and concepts (Now with pics)

Im trying to figure out the best way of mounting the exhaust on my ex F750 car...

I have a set of headers designed for a locost, so they are quite long....I simplly cant fit the carbon can onto the end of it, the rear wheels are in the way....

So the easiest way around it would be to mount the exhaust to come out vertically infront of the rear wheels...which means the body will get sprayed in st

I could chop and change the current exhaust but its going to require quite a lot of work...

So, here are my questions:
1. How much is a stainless steel zx9r header set worth (To fit a locost)
2. If I significantly shorten the headers will the heat from the engine effect the carbon silencers effect? ( i need to keep this thing quiet for track days)...
3. It might be easier to make my own pipes to fit, but where is the cheapest place to get prebbent pipes, flanges etc from in a suitable stainless grade?

How it used to be with the reliant engine...would be nice to use the same exit hole!

How about adding a 180 dgree bend and mounting the can forward above the pipe , then point the exit out the side near the manifold ? That way you wont lose any length ?

Its cuz I is blond , innit

Now there is some latteral thinking....That solution didnt even pop into my thick skull...

I wonder if you can get a suitably tight stainless 180 degree bend...

Easy, get some stainless butt weld pipe from someone like All Stainless.

You'll get it plenty tight enough

Here's a pic of one of my exhaust manifolds made from the same stuff:
