Kit car insurance......again

I`ve just recently insured my kit-car (first time for 4 years) , did it over the phone as I couldnt get their website to work , and a couple of weeks later I got a phone message telling me the policy would be cancelled if I didnt return the forms they sent within 7 days.......form which I had to explain to them I hadnt received !
The missing forms turned up the next day , and I just cant believe how much information they have demanded
As well as the usual copy of my licence , they want full details of my tin-top and its insurance , and a copy of the `purchase receipts for the vehicle as self built` ?
Who keeps receipts for nine years FFS
And how relevant is what I drive when my Fury is in the garage ?

Its cuz I is blond , innit

Can understand them asking about your tintop and insurance as they can then confirm this on the motor insurance database as i presume you have insured the kit as a 2nd car?? I think too many people were doing this with their daily driver (elises and so on) to get the cost down.

As for the receipts - well that seems plain stupid. I'd definately call them and query that - tell them straight its 9 years old and you dont have any. Check your policy about your cancellation rights just in case - how many days you get for full refund if the policy isnt right for you etc and if its 28 days maybe use this as a lever to get a more sensible request from them

Would it not be easier to just go to Adrian Flux or someone who knows what you're on about? I tend to pick insurers on price AND ones who actually know what I'm on about. I hate having to ring up to explain what the car is, yes, it's an 1100, yes it's a bike engine, yes I'm only 24. Just give me some damn insurance already!
I am also a little bit impatient.
