Note to all: I really don't know when to leave well alone. I tried to get clever with the mods, then when they gave me a lifeline to see the error of my ways, I tried to incite more trouble via u2u. So now I'm banned, never to return again. They should have done it years ago!

I've done 3 in the last 6 months on my daughters' P reg 1.2 The actual job is a doddle but it will go again until you fix the cause. The nipple breaks off at the pedal end because the plastic retainer wears out. Take the air filter off to get down the back of the engine and push the cable through the bulkhead, pull the inner into the slot on the pedal and push it back into place under the two prongs then pull the other end into the fork on the gearbox and adjust it till the pedal is the right height. I made a little clip from a piece of 16g about 10mm square with a slot for the cable to go through and pushed it up behind the nipple with some epoxy to hold it in place and it stops the nipple from flexing and fraying the cable.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
