Thats how I did mine, dont even try it with out a cone and they do need to be special boots, supaflex I think mine were called, anyway one of the hardest jobs done to date as I was first trying to do it with a home made cone, gave up and borrowed one from my local friendly garage.

And he still doesn't have the intelligence to put a pair of rubber gloves on when handling cv joints. i wonder whether he does when he is handling the elephants

You might not want to watch this with the sound up at work. If people hear it but can't see the screen they might get the wrong idea. His grunting is a bit disturbing
