Charity bag collection - take care !

Wife left charity bag for Scope for collection this morning. We were also left a bag for collection today for "The Third World" in small print at botton says "Bolling Recycling" is not a registered charity.
Noticed a tatty van draw up and picked up our Scope bag, goes next door picks up both bags and so on down the road.
Followed and asked driver what charity he was picking up for "third world mate"
I opened back door of van and it was full ,I had a right barney and he said if I wanted them (the Scope bags) he said I could help myself.
Its a pretty sad world when people start to steal from charities
Rant over

Quite common, heard of that before.. Real pain, like said report to the charity, they know about this as an issue and are working to sort it out...

First thing I did was to speak to Scope, seems a very common problem.
In law they are not stealing from Scope but from us. If the Police are involved and the charity bag could be identified back to the donor they could be prosecuted for theft.
In my opinion it all gets to be a waste of everyones time as all they will get is a gentle slap on the wrist and dont do it again.
Then they are back doing it again the following day making a fortune.

If I have anything I take it to the charity shop in person not leave it outside in a bag. The Didecoys round here don't even leave you a bag they just put a paper through the door saying put the stuff out in a carrier bag on whatever day and they will pick it up.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

Happens all the time round here. Bags get left outside the charity shops on a Sunday and people nick them, take the round the back to the alleyway (right in front of my garage)... and rip them open and nick anything worth having. Anything else gets left to the rain, sleet, snow, rats and pigeons.

What was really cheeky was when a local resident had a "yard sale" outside his housing block clearly selling all the nicked stuff from the charity shop directly opposite him.... Strangely people bought from him!!!
