Aluminium welding

Hi Chaps

I have a couple of questions;

1.Anyone know if its possible to tig weld the ally engine casing on my blade engine? I broke off one of the engine mounting lugs.
2.Does anyone have someone they can recommend in my locality? I live in mid Bedfordshire.

Thanks

I would ask around your area to locate a specialised fabrication firm , as they will possible be able to put you on to someone who does Ally , ( ask in a bike shop even , as they often have repairs done on Ally engine covers ) .

If it can be done it i will be done .

If the welding is'nt a possibilty would it be possible to pick up on some other bolts & fabricate a new mounting?
I've repaired a few things like that now, the broken off engine mounting lug on a VW Golf diesel being one that comes to mind & just tonight I was under a JCB that someone in the distant past had made a new gearbox mounting for due to a broken lug.
