yes you do have to tell them. not to do so will put your cover at risk and may even invalidate it at worst

If you don't tell them, and then something happens later and they get wind of your points (ie report from plod stating facts of accident
including licence's and points on licence's) and everyone has insurance but they notice that you did not report 'relevant
facts' to the insurers (as in points on licence). Then you will in all likely hood find the your insurers will turn round and say '
I'm sorry sir but your insurance is null and void due to non disclosure of relevant facts. good bye.' and down the phone line you will be
certain that you can hear them snigger as they hang up.
Beware of the Goldfish in the tulip mines. The ONLY defence against them is smoking peanut butter sandwiches.

As said. You need to tell them. My insurers don't count up to two SP30s, or any parking offences. I imagine that would change if you were parked
on top of a row of cars.

As above, tell them, if you don't and have a claim they may well refuse to pay out if it comes to light.
Most mainstream insurers won't bump up your premium for minor points not sure about AF though?

It is also a criminal offence not to disclose relevant information to your insurers
